Services for Mrs. Ella Carrie Stafford will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Byham funeral home in Meadville, with interment in Greendale cemetery.
Mrs. Stafford, aged 68, died in the Akron, O. City Hospital last Tuesday after illness of a week. She was born in Titusville at the Schneider homestead on Dutch Hill. Her husband, Charles Stafford, died a number of years ago. Her son, Charles N. Stafford, lost his life in World War I and the Stafford Legion post in Meadville was named for him. Another son, Capt. Robert Stafford, served in World War II and is stationed in Manila, Philippines. He flew to this country when apprised of his mother's illness, but did not arrive until after her death.
Besides this son, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Karns, in Akron, where she was visiting when she became ill; three other daughters, Mrs. Clare Butler of Meadville, Mrs. A. J. Sullivan of Phillipsburg and Mrs. Charles Catherman of Buffalo and two other sons, Arthur and Myron Stafford of Meadville. There are two brothers, Arthur Schneider of Lakeland, Fla., and Robert Schneider of Titusville.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and various military organizations in Meadville.
