  The Daily Courier February 8, 1929 Largely attended was the funeral service for Mrs. Mary Josephine Stafford, wife of Henry Stafford, this morning at 10 o'clock at the family home along the Springfield pike. Rev. J. H. Lambertson, pastor of the First Methodist Protestant Church, of which Mrs. Stafford was a member, officiated, assisted by Rev. E. H. Stevens of the First Baptist Church. There were many floral tributes. Pallbearers were Smith Buttermore, Henry Fette, Charles Stafford, Felix McArdle, Charles Leighty and Alex Kooser. Interment was in Hill Grove Cemetery.
