  Mary Adelia Stafford Stewart Birth: May 31, 1837 Sherburne, Chenango County New York, USA Death: Nov. 25, 1882 Richland County Wisconsin, USA Richland Rustic Saturday December 16, 1882 DIED In the town of Forest, Nov. 25th, 1882, of consumption, Mrs. Mary A. Benson, wife of Joseph H. Benson, aged 45 years, 5 months and 24 days. The deceased was born in Sherburne county, New York. Was the daughter of Fanny and Amos Stafford. Mary came with her parents to Wisconsin in the fall of 1856. In January 1857 she was married to Charles D. Stewart deceased, and in January, 1876, she married Joseph H.Benson. Was the mother of eight children, four of them deceased. She was a dutiful mother and a faithful christian. She has been ailing for years and September 3d she commenced bleeding from the lungs: was sick twelve weeks and bore everything with patience. After she knew that she must go, her only wish seemed to be and she said: don't weep after me, for it will be better for me.
