  Samuel Elston Stafford, 93, of Attica, died at 8:16 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1916 near Attica to the late William Thomas and Blanche R. Hushaw Stafford. He married Lila Mae "Sandy" Trott was on Feb. 11, 1946 in Sterling. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Dema Freeman (husband: Robert) and a brother, Robert Stafford, both Attica; five grandchildren, Sandra Freeman, Brad (Karmen) Freeman, David (Jamie) Stafford, William "Bill" (Vanessa) Stafford and Noah Stafford; four great-granddaughters, Whitley Freeman, Bailey Freeman, Rylee Freeman and Abigail "Abby" Stafford and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Stafford. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas C. Stafford; a brother, George W. Stafford and a sister-in-law, Mildred "Millie" Stafford.
