Maynard Lester Robertson, 66, of Staffordsville, died Saturday, February 15, 1997 at his home. He was born January 12, 1931 at Thessalia, Va. the son of the late Grady and Effie Gertrude Havens Robertson. He is survived by his wife, Betty Pearl Stafford Robertson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Robbie Robertson, Staffordsville, Gregory and Betty Ann Robertson, Pearisburg; four sisters, Opal Woodyard, Staffordsville, Cuba Liddle, Chicago, Ill., Barbara (Chine) Hale, Salem, Alva Meadows, Pearisburg; one brother, Grady (Bunt) Robertson, St. Marys, W.Va.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate with the Rev. Frank Clifton officiating. Burial in the Birchlawn Burial Park, Peariburg. Visiting will be at the funeral home Monday after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Giles County Lifesaving and Rescue Squad.
