- CYRUS P. STAFFORD married Martha Fortney; he died 6 Nov 1921. Like his father and mother, he was active in church affairs. At the death of his father and mother he became the owner of the farm theretofore owned by his father, to which he and his wife added more acreage and, on their death, it descended to their son Harley Stafford.
He has lived to observe the disappearance of the last forest surrounding the homestead of his father; the passing of the ox team, stage coach, mud roads, cradel [cradle] and sickle; the displacement of the rough log cabin by a splendid residence; the marked progress of civilization and material changes in the country life of Pike Township and in contrast with those existing in the early days of his father and mother...."
