The Plattsburgh Sentinel August 6, 1926
Ellsworth Elmer Stafford was born in Beekmantown, October 6, 1862 and died there July 17, 1926. He was the son of Andrew M. and Charlotte E. Stafford.
Mr. Stafford was a farmer by vocation, loved his work, understood and practiced the standard methods that made farming a success, until failing heath obliged him to retire from active work.
He was a great reader and a good conversationalist and visiting him was a pleasure enjoyed by his many friends. An honest man, possessing good judgement, he was an invaluable counselor and many sought his kindly advice.
Mr. Stafford is survived by his wife who was Anna M. Marshall of Beekmantown, whom he married nearly forty years ago. There survives a daughter, Mrs. E.W. Hancock of Albany, a son, Elmer Andrew Stafford of Plattsburgh, also three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Eva S. Parsons of Plattsburgh.
Funeral services were held from his home on July 20th, Rev. James A. Perry officiating. Mrs. W.C. Thompson and Mrs. Ruth Learned sang some of his favorite hymns. Beautiful flowers in profusion came from sorrowing friends and neighbors. Interment as in Riverside Cemetery.
