Elmer Andrew Stafford
BEEKMANTOWN - Elmer Andrew Stafford, 69 of 6 Stafford Drive, died early Sunday at the Physicians Hospital Unit following an illiness of two months.
He was born in Beekmantown Aug. 3, 1898, the son of Ellsworth E. and Anna (Marshall) Stafford.
Prior to retirement in 1959 Mr. Stafford owned and operated Treadwell Bay Farm on the State Road in the Town of Beekmantown.
Mr. Stafford was a member of Plattsburgh First Methodist Church, a member of Northern Light Lodge 505 F&AM of West Chazy, a life member of Beekman Grange, and one of the founders and first president of the Clinton County Dairmen's Cooperative, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, the former Cora Stratton; Three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Katherine) Miller of 12 Stafford Dr., Mrs. Frank (Jane Charlotte) Hamilton of New Paltz, and Mrs. Warren (Ruth) Hodges of Northfield, Conn. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with burial in riverside Cemetery.
Masonic ritualistic services will be held Tuesday evening at 8 at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Calling hours starting today at the funeral home are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
