  Rose was born in Liberty Township, the daughter of Nathan and Marinda McCracken Stafford. She had siblings Charles, Elizabeth, James, Melvin, Mary, Myrtle, Clara,Fanny, Nathan, and Jessie. Roze married Danny Miller on 17 July 1887 in Wood County and was widowed in 1892. They had three children: an unnamed son who died at 8 days, Myron Daniel, and Alice Matilda.
