Mrs. Bessie James Dies at Houlka
Last rites for Mrs. Bessie James, 56, who died at her home at Houlka December 14, were held on the morning of December 15 at Scooner Valley Church. The Rev. Mr. Warren, the Rev. Mr. McCoy and the Rev. Oscar Nabors officiated at the services.
Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, with Cook Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. James had made her home at Houlka for the past 38 years. She was a Baptist.
She leaves her husband, William Thomas James; one son, Farrias James of Houlka; two brothers, Ellie Stafford of Houlka and Gordon Stafford of McGee, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Davis of Houston and Mrs. Frank Ursery of Houlka. She also leaves three grandchildren, Jimmie and Billie Noel and Martha Ann James.
Pallbearers were Roy Berry, Mark Alexander, Chester Bailey, Fred James, Ike James and T C Bray.
