  Appointed Postmaster of Sevierville TN. Grand Master of Mountain Star Masonic Lodge #197 in Sevier County. Shown as living on Cherry St in 1920 Census: the house is now owned by daughter Virgina Stafford Pierce. Lost his father at aged 8, his mother at 12. Divorced his wife after children grown. See Guardian papers, Sevier County 1886-1900. After his father's death when he was 8, he and the two girls went to the Masonic Orphanage for their care. For his share of the estate of Michael A. Rawlings (his grandfather) see will of same, also settlement in 1899, p. 339-341, Sevier County Court Records. The burial plot in Shiloh Cemetery where he, his son, and son-in-law all are buried is a joint plot with elder sister, Olive Myrtle Stafford York.
