PNEUMONIA FATAL TO MISS IDA STAFFORD
Miss Ida May Stafford,age 56, died Thursday night at 9:30 o'clock of pneumonia, at the home of her brother- in-law and sister, Mr. & Mrs. R E Wells, 1124 East Walnut St. She had been ill for a week.
Miss Stafford was born march 1, 1875 in Bethlehem twp. a daughter of the late Isaac and Sophia Stafford, pioneer residents of this county. Her entire life was lived in this county.
Years ago Miss Stafford taught in the Bethlehem tp. schools. She was an active member of the local Methodist Protestant Church, having served as a teacher of the Plus Ultra Sunday School Class, secretary of the official church board and of the congregation, secretary of the Ladies Aid Society, and corresponding secretary of the Women's Missionary Society.
There are surviving one brother,W.E Stafford of Cambridge;and four sister, Mrs. George Finlay of Collins, Mrs.Irwin Porteus of near Coshocton, Mrs. R E Wells, this city, and Miss Lulu Stafford of Brooklyn, New York. One brother, John Lower Stafford, died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at the Wells home Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in charge of Rev.George W Beck, of the West Lafayette M.E.Church, assisted by Rev. J.E.Tripp, this city. Burial will be made in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
