Senator Stafford's grandparents, his mother, nee Selina Smith, and his wife, nee Regina Whittaker, were all former residents of this place. He has many cousins in South Durham, various parts of the Eastern Townships and Kamloops and Dewdney, B.C. Senator Stafford had been a resident of Laconia for fifty-seven years.
