SOUTH DURHAM – Relatives and friends in this district and other parts of the Eastern Townships were grieved to learn of the passing of Senator George Carroll Stafford, of Laconia, N.H., who died after a brief illness on Thursday, May 3rd, at the age of sixty-three years. Senator Stafford's grandparents, his mother, nee Selina Smith, and his wife, nee Regina Whittaker, were all former residents of this place. He has many cousins in South Durham, various parts of the Eastern Townships and Kamloops and Dewdney, B.C. Senator Stafford had been a resident of Laconia for fifty-seven years.
