Obituary: Jamestown NY Evening Journal, November 9, 1903
Funeral services for Mrs. Electa E. Baldwin were held Saturday morning at 7:30 at the home, 259 Marvin street, and the remains accompanied by the family and friends were then taken to Ellington where services were held in the M. E. church at 11. Rev. G. S. W. Phillips officiated and music was furnished by Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Archie Sprague. The bearers, all relatives, were James H. Green, A. H. Stafford, Shirley S. Taylor and Perry Frisbee. There was an abundance of floral tokens from relatives and friends. The body was laid to rest in Valley View cemetery, Ellington.
The deceased, the second daughter of Jonathan and Sophia Randall Stafford, was born in Ellington Feb. 17, 1824. Her parents were among the pioneer settlers of Ellington, where their life was passed. In early life she united with the M. E. church, of which she has ever been an exemplary member. She married Henry D. Baldwin. Three children were born to them, two daughters, Harriet S., wife of J. H. Green, M. Garphelia (deceased), wife of Perry Frisbee, a son Lester, (deceased). She was a faithful wife and devoted mother. In attendance from out of town were the following: Mr. and Mrs. John Phelps of Poland, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Stafford of Jamestown, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Green, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Taylor and daughter, and L. D. Powers of Jamestown.
