  Clarence J. Stafford. 51, died Friday night, Sept. 12, at his home on the Virgil road in Cortlandville. He had been ill a short time. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and burial was in Cortland. His wife, Mrs. Anna Stafford, survives him with five sons and four daughters: La Verne Stafford of Cortland, Leslie Stafford of Homer, Harold Stafford of East Homer, Charles and Howard Stafford of Cortlandville, Mrs. Albert Trim of Virgil, Mrs. Leonard Wilcox of Gee Hill, Mrs. Robert Redfield of Cortland, and Miss Eleanor Stafford of Cortlandville. -The Cortland Democrat, 19 Sep 1930
