  She died when Collie was very young. I was told that she was Cherokee and from a tin-type picture I saw as a young child, she had on a high collar English dress (I expected her to be in buckskin) . She had her hair in a bun on top of her head and she had high cheek bones. COLLIE spelled her name 'Amandy' but it was probably Amanda. She had 3 sisters: Mollie, Ada AND Sarah Marie (Sarah was married to a man by the name of Barker).
