Commonwealth of Kentucky Certificate of Death # 5689 states that Leona Stafford, a married white female aged 25 years, 1 month and 16 days and who lived in Greenup Co., KY, died March 28, 1933 in Ashland, Boyd Co., KY of emphysema of the right lung, she had had a rib resection on March 20, 1933. She was born Feb 12, 1908 in Lawrence Co., KY to father Enos Deerfield who was born in Lawrence Co., KY and to mother Essie Belle Robins born in Lawrence Co., KY. The informant was Charles Stafford who resides in Greenup Co., KY. Burial was in the Darby Cemetery in Greenup Co., KY Corrections to death certificate: Leona Derifield was the daughter of Enos Derifield and Easter Belle Roberts The last name Derifield can be spelled several ways, I have seen Derifield, Derefield and Deerfield as can be attested by various census records and tombstones. ------------------------------ Charles Stafford and Leona Derifield had at least the following children: Gladys Ruth Stafford, Edith Beulah Stafford, Adra Maxine Stafford and Russell E.
