Lawson Devonshire, eldest son of Nathan and Sarah Stafford, was born October 10, 1850, near Steubenville, O., and died at his home in Republic county (sic) June 9, 1935, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 29 days.
In the spring of 1852 he moved with his parents to Porter county (sic), Indiana, later moving to Minnesota where his father died. He moved to Republic county (sic) Kansas when a young man.
He was married in 1879 to Louise Vandervert (sic). A foster daughter, Dora McNull, was reared by them. On June 8, 1892, he was united in marriage with Lola (sic) Larsen of Warwick and to this union were born nine children. A daughter died in infancy, and a son, Samuel preceded him in death in 1929.
He is survived by Leland, Lila, Earl, Orland and Eunice, of the home, Mrs. Mae Conzelman of Santa Ana, Cal., and Mrs. Clara Brainard of Blue Hill, Neb.
