Lula Larsen, daughter of Andrew Peter and Ollie Larsen was born in Chicago, Ill., March 26, 1868 and died at the Nuckolls County hospital (sic) in superior July 9, 1970 at the age of 102 years, 5 months and 6 days.
She came to Scandia with her parents, one brother and two sisters in 1860. In 1870 the Larsen family moved to a homestead where Warwick, Kan., was located. Here she lived a pioneer life in a dugout.
She married Lawsen (sic) Stafford June 8, 1892. To this union nine children were born. Three sons preceded her in death, Leland, Sam and Earl, one daughter, Delly, who died in infancy, her husband, four brothers and two sisters. She was the last survivor (sic) of this Norwgian immigrant family.
At the time of her marriage she moved to a timer (sic) claim five miles southeast of Hardy, Neb., where she helped complete the tree planting program. This is now the home place of her family.
Survivors are: her children, Mrs. Lila Scott of Hardy, Mrs. Mae Conzelman of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Clara Brainard of Dearborn, Mich., Miss Eunice and Orland, who lived on the home place; 3 grandchildren, Mrs. Barbara Dancu of Dearborn, Mich., Mrs. Sandra Schroder of El Toro, Calif., Clarence Conzelman of Santa Ana, Calif., 5 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granchild.
