Mrs. Maude Milner
Maude Viola Stafford, oldest child of Samuel and Rozella Stafford was born in a dugout in Liberty township, Republic county, Kansas, on January 4, 1880, and passed away February 25, 1955, at St. Joseph's hospital in Concordia, Kan., at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 21 days.
She received her grade school education at Maple Grove school and attended high school at Byron, Neb.
On February 24, 1897, Maude was united in marriage to Robert G. Milner. To this union eight children were born.
She joined the Methodist church early in life at Washington school house. She transferred her membership to Belleville when she moved here to live.
Preceded in death by her husband and son, Leo, and daughter, Pearl, she is survived by one daughter, Eva DeNoyer of North Loup, Neb.; five sons, Lawrence of Imperial, Neb., Edwin of Holyoke, Colo., Sam, Max and Archie of Belleville; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Bowersox of Belleville, Mrs. Belle Nelson of Republic; three brothers, Clarence Stafford of Haigler, Neb., Clifford Stafford of Lawrence and Harold Stafford of Scandia; 36 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
