Enoch Earl Stafford
Enoch Earl Stafford, son of Sam and Rose Stafford, was born October 18, 1881, at Republic City, and died May 11, 1951, at Aurora, Neb., at the home of his daughter. His age was 69 years, 7 months and 11 days.
Stafford was born and reared in Liberty township, Republic county, and there he received his education. he attended college at Salina.
Married to Stella James on September 10, 1902, they lived on a farm in Republic county a number of years before moving to a ranch at Franklin, Neb. He was later overseer at a CCC camp and an engineer at Enders Dam, Neb.
Stafford was a member of the Methodist church.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1941. Survivors are: five children, Blanche of Hays, Marie, Edna and Dean of California; and Lucile of Aurora; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maude, May and Belle; four brothers, Clarence, Clifford, Harold and Orval, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral and burial was at Franklin, Neb., Sunday, May 13.
