Last rites for Finis E. Stafford who passed away at his home near Winona on September 13th were held at Scotland Church Sunday afternoon, September 15th, at three o'clock with the Rev. C. B. Hamlet III, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Friends and neighbors who served as pallbearers were J. B. Oldham, G. D. Oldham, John Matthews, Henry Whittle, Guy Davis, Rupert Ingram, Gordon Fullilove, J. L. Pegram and Claude Vail.
Mr. Stafford who was 67 years of age was the son of the late William A. and Wincie William Stafford, pioneer settlers of Montgomery County. He lived in Greenwood for 27 years where he was a merchant and farmer. He moved to Prescott, Arkansas, where he lived for four years before returning to Montgomery County, near Winona, in 1945 where he bought the farm on which he was living at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie Mae Carney Stafford and one sister, Mrs. Lela Eley of Memphis.
Friends and relatives from Memphis, Greenwood, Hollandale, Isola and many other places attended the funeral.
