Mr. Merritt E. Stafford of Prudenville, MI. passed away Sunday,October 30, 1988 at the V.A. Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Age 68 years. He was born February 19, 1920 in Saginaw and lived in Saginaw most of his life before moving to Florida for six years then moving to Prudenville in 1985. He married Mary C. Bula May 19, 1966. ...He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Prudenville. He was also a member of the D.A.V. Chapter No. 117 and the Houghton Lake Civic Association. He had been a salesman for the Rainbow Bread Company until 1964.
Surviving besides his wife are one son, two daughters, one stepdaughter and their spouses, Robert (Rosemary) Stafford, Saginaw; Susan (Tim) Gaccgi, Lansing; Sharon (Doug) Thiede, Saginaw; Patricia (Nick) Madeline, Rochester....two sisters and three brothers, Thelma Wasmiller, Saginaw; Shirley Willy, Tucson AZ, Darwin Stafford, Birch Run, Kenneth Stafford, Saginaw, Calvin Stafford, Boynton Beach, FL.......
