Obituary:
- Died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital, Lake Jackson, Texas. He was 97 and a resident of West Columbia, Texas. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, West Columbia, 2 to 8 p.m. Monday. Graveside services at Stafford Family Cemetery, North Corbin Road, Walker, at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Survived by wife, Pheby E. Stafford, West Columbia; three daughters and a son-in-law, Lucille Bishop, Longview, Texas, Barbara Slone, Louisiana, and Betty and Wayne Matthews, Bryan, Texas; a son anddaughter-in-law, Dewey Womack Stafford Jr. and Geneva Stafford, LaMarque, Texas; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Norton Stafford, Houston, and Raymond and Nora Castellow, Brazoria, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Jackson, Walker, and Clara Stewart, Lake Charles; four brothers, Kenyon, Rudy and Parker Stafford, all of Walker, and Fuqua Stafford, Baton Rouge; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, in charge of local arrangements.
