A retired Tennessee Oil and Gas Co. employee and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 1996, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1902, and a native of Corbin.
Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at Parkview Baptist Church 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Bob Anderson and the Rev. Ron Tyndall. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Survived by wife of 68 years, Zelda P. Stafford; a son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Carolyn O. Stafford, all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Juanita S. Jackson, Corbin, and Clara S. Stewart, Houston; three brothers, Parker Stafford, Kenyon P. Stafford and Rudolph R. Stafford, all of Corbin; four grandchildren, John Mark Stafford, Carolyn Siobhan Stafford, Andrew K. Stafford and Timothy O. Stafford; and a great-granddaughter, Rachel E. Stafford.
Preceded in death by parents, John Wiley and Birdie Womack Stafford; a sister and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Mark, Andrew and Tim Stafford, J.E. Hobbs, J.K. Stafford and R.E. Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Sunday School class. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
