Obituary:
- A retired accountant and U.S. Army civilian employee and resident of Walker, he died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at Columbia Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 92 and a native of Corbin.
Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Dolph. Interment in Memorial Gardens, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Anne DeEtte and Ned Peabody, Eckert, Colo., and Donna Mae and John Martin, Homer, Alaska; a son and daughter-in-law, Parker S. and Kay Stafford, Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Juanita Jackson, Walker, and Clara Stewart, Houston; two brothers, Kenyon Stafford and Robert R. Stafford, both of Walker; four grandchildren, Melanie Stafford, Westminster, Colo., Monica Peabody, Olympia, Wash., Randal Stafford, Littleton, and Mark Peabody, Santa Cruz, Calif.; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by wife, Connie Mae Smart Stafford; three brothers, Dewey, Ogden and Fuqua Stafford; and twin sister, Betty Pearl Mecom.
He was of the Methodist faith. Memorial donations may be made to Cal Farley Boys Ranch, Amarillo, Texas.
