Obituary:
- Juanita Stafford Jackson, a retired teacher with the Livingston Parish school system, passed away at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007, at home in Walker, surrounded by her family. She was 99 years, 11 months and 11 days old. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, and at Walker United Methodist Church, Walker, until services, with the Rev. Jerry Johnson and the Rev. Herb Cowan officiating. Burial in Palmetto Cemetery, Walker.
Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Ruth Jackson and Don Townsend of Walker, Marion LaNell "Ginger" and Vernon Guitrau of French Settlement; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Rudolph "Rudy" and Irene Stafford of Walker; grandchildren, Karen Hobbs Sproles of Baton Rouge, Thomas Andrew and wife Jinny Townsend of Watson, Jonathan Charles Townsend of Walker, and Kenyon Hobbs of Prairieville; great-grandchildren, Jared Westberry, Ryan Hobbs, B.J. Sproles, Brittany Sproles and Julian Hobbs; daughter-in-law, Paula Hobbs of Walker; granddaughter-in-law, Debra Faye Hobbs of Walker; sister-in-law, Minnie Jackson Allen of Denham Springs; stepsons-in-law and stepdaughters-in-law, Charles Lewis and Brenda Jackson of Walker, Phillip Albert and Peggy Jackson of Titusville, Pa.; stepgrandchildren and spouses, Stephanie Bradley Smith and Bobby of Baker, Stephen and Rhonda Guitrau, Kevin and Lulu Guitrau of French Settlement, Chattelle Jackson and Bill of Mississippi, Bud Jackson and Terry, Ken Jackson and Lindy, all of Pennsylvania; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sibley Hobbs.
Pallbearers will be D.W. Stafford, John Fuqua Stafford, Parker Smart Stafford, Donald Stafford, Kenneth Stafford, William Stewart, Bobby Stafford, Don Allen and Steve Stafford. Honorary pallbearers are all of her former colleagues, former students and caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Charles "Red" Jackson; parents, John Wiley and Birdie Womack Stafford; son, John Elmon Hobbs; grandson, John Wiley Hobbs; great-grandson, Cody Westberry; step-granddaughter, Tawnya Jackson; sisters, twin Ouida Stafford, Betty Pearl Stafford Weeks Mecom and husband William, and Clara Stafford Stewart and husband William; brothers, Ernest Stafford and wife Maude, W.B. Stafford, Ogden Stafford, Dewey Stafford and wife Phoebe, Fuqua Stafford and wife Zelda, Parker Stafford and wife Connie, and Kenyon Stafford and wife Thelma; sister-in-law and husband, Mattie Jackson Millet and Ernest; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph Jackson and Helen, Harry Jackson and Inez, James E. Jackson and Monita, Phillip Jackson and Sara Lou, and Leon Jackson; and a sister-in-law's husband, Donald Allen.
She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church and Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. Memorials can be made to Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 929, Ruston, LA 71273-0929.
