• Notes

  After numerous attempts to locate the actual grave site through state and county records, this memorial was created in order to connect the many descendants of Elijah and Mary. When the new highway (what is now Bus. 270) was put in between Wewoka and Seminole, it went through the cemetery where he and his wife Mary Elizabeth (Word) were buried. Further research shows that many of the graves were never moved to the new cemetery, which is highway 56 now.
