Buried:
- A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Adolphus Hall Stafford died at his home Thursday, June 24, 2010, at age 103, surrounded by his family. He was a native and resident of Walker.
Survived by his wife of 73 years, Aline Roux Stafford; two sons and their wives, Wayne A. and Marie Milton Stafford, and Lynwood H. and Andrea Aydell Stafford; six grandchildren and spouses, Belinda Stafford Watson and John, Todd and Kelli Amedee Stafford, Jared and Melissa Shirkey Stafford, Sheila Stafford Abbott and Kenny, Sherri Stafford Palmer and Bryan, and Lynwood Stafford Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren, Katie and Kelsie Watson, Samuel and Alexis Stafford, Janie and Ashlynn Stafford, Amber and Megan Abbott, Lyndsey and Bailey Palmer and Irelyn and Savanah Stafford; two sisters, Stevie Hood Milton and Velma DeRouen; and sister-in-law, Leona Roux Aiken. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Golda Stewart Stafford; brothers, Virgil and Bowers Stafford; and sisters, Nettie Kriz, Ethel Carter, Camilla Wascom and Torah Forbes.
He was a former mayor of the town of Walker, a member of Walker Baptist Church and a former deacon. He was a retired pipe fitter with Exxon Co. USA and Builder's Center. He loved fishing, his garden and camping, especially in the Smokies.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Todd, Lynn and Jared Stafford, John Watson, Kenny Abbott and Bryan Palmer.
Our family gives special thanks to Generations Hospice and Dad's dedicated sitters, Lela Mae, Pam, Dot and Debbie. Visitation at Walker Baptist Church was Friday, June 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church Saturday, June 26, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Richard Blue. Burial in Walker Baptist Church Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Walker Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements provided by Renaissance Services, Gonzales.
