Buried:
- Died at 10:35 p.m. Friday, March 2, 1979, at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. He was 69, a native and resident of Walker. He was a law enforcement officer.
Body at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, with visiting from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Religious services at 3 p.m. Sunday at Walker Baptist Church, Walker, conducted by the Rev. Herman Wilkerson. Burial in Stafford Cemetery, Satsuma.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Brannon Stafford, Walker; two daughters, Mrs. Delree (Cathy) Wascom and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Miller, both of Walker; four sisters, Mrs. Camilla Wascom, Mrs. Stevie Milton, both of Walker, Mrs. Velma DeRouen, Beaumont, Texas, and Mrs. Ethel Carter, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Bowers Stafford, Satsuma, and Adolphus Stafford, Walker; seven grandchildren, Denise, V.E., and Sue Wascom, Toni, Steve, Candace, and Mike Miller; a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Torah (Toto) Forbes and Mrs. Nattie [sic Nettie] Kriz.
Pallbearers: Huey Jones, Allan Miller, Wayne Stafford, Gary Wimberly, Junior Forbes, Donnie Ellis, Clyde Stafford and Mike Brannon. Honorary pallbearers: members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Department and Walker and Dixie Trail Riders associations.
He was a member of the Walker and Dixie Trail Riders associations and a member of the Democratic State Central Committee.
