Buried:
- He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011. He was 84, born Oct. 24, 1926.
Preceded in death by his son, Hiram Randall Stafford; parents, Hiram Lodney and Lovicy Muse Stafford; and brothers, Raymond and Benton Bryant Stafford.
Survived by his wife, Evelyn Wesley Stafford, and their son, John Lodney Stafford and wife Tanya delaVergne; and daughter, Allison Lea Stafford. He was PawPaw to Brittany, Caleb, Merrick and Collin. He is also survived by a sister, Oudrey Borskey; brothers, Noah Nelson and Steve Stafford; and numerous nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked his later years as a forester and retired from Jackson Lumber Co. He enjoyed tending his cows and working in his garden. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church.
Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesday, April 27, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Lewis Morris and the Rev. Tim Gilmore. Burial in Hiram Stafford Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Stafford, Jacob Arledge, Shane Collins, Claude Sibley, Steve Stafford Jr. and Mitchell Varnado. Honorary pallbearers are Lloyd Smith, Nelson Stafford, Steve Stafford, Sam Collins and other members of the Shed Coffee Club.
