- Died 4:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 1987, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge. He was 58, a native of Satsuma and resident of Denham Springs. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict.
Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 9 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Terry Booth, the Rev. Brady Forman and the Rev. Merelin McCon. Burial in Hiram Stafford Cemetery, Satsuma.
Survived by wife, Marvelle Stafford, Denham Springs; mother, Mrs. Louicy Stafford, Satsuma; a daughter, Amanda Foil Victor Newcomer, Denham Springs; a sister, Oudrey Borskey, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Hiram, Nelson and Steve Stafford, all of Walker; two grandsons, Joseph Victor and Christopher Victor Newcomer, both of Denham Springs; and a son-in-law, Stephen M. Newcomer, Denham Springs.
Preceded in death by father, Hiram L. Stafford; and a brother, Raymond Stafford.
Pallbearers will be John Lodney Stafford, Adrian Kelleher, Derron Felps, Robert Nese, John LeBlanc and Barette Haviland.
He was a member of Amite Baptist Church, Denham Springs, Hurd Merrill Lodge, Livingston, and was president of the Louisiana AFLCIO.
