  oy Lee Stafford Schaefer, 80, of Louisville, wife of the late James Andrew Blackwell and Gerard Frederick Schaefer, passed from her earthly body on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Baptist Health LaGrange after a brief struggle with cancer. Joy was born in Louisville on May 18, 1938 the daughter of the late Wesley Lee & Gladys Julia Hund Stafford. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kyle Jay Blackwell (Becky), Brian Strafford Blackwell and Hannah Schaefer Mudd (Chris); grandchildren, David Lee Blackwell (Janet), Kyle David Blackwell, Sydney Abigale Mudd, Althea Madison Mudd and Porter Martin Mudd. Joy’s sister Christie Ann Newland (John) also survives. Rejoice that she has risen to be with her God, her parents, her husbands and her brother, David Todd Stafford, who also preceded her in death. A service celebrating Joy’s life will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road
