IRWIN STAFFORD. The death of Irwin Stafford, aged 83 years, occurred at the home, 406 Main Street, Saturday, August 18, as result of injuries received when he fell and fractured his hip a few weeks previous. Mr. Stafford was born in Sherbrooke, Que., and had been a resident of this city for 37 years, coming here from Wisconsin. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge, A.F. and A.M. and was a member of the St. James Episcopal church. Besides the widow, Mrs. Selina Stafford, both of this city, a sister, Mrs. Barbara Hopkinson, of Groton, Vt., also ten grandchildren.
The funeral services were held from the home, Tuesday, August 21, and were attended by a large gathering of relatives, friends and fraternal association. The Rev. Mr. Henderson, an Episcopal clergyman of Plymouth conducted the Episcopal funeral service. Hymns were sung by Joseph B.F. Bell. The members of Mt. Lebanon lodge attended the services in a body and performed the Masonic funeral ceremony, in charge of Theo S. Jewett, W.M. The bearers were the four grandsons, David, Harold, Willie and Carroll Stafford. Interment was made in Union cemetery, under the direction of Lewis H. Wilkinson, undertaker.
