Hallie Stafford Deweese, 81, Baxter, Tenn. died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996, at the Masters Health Care Center in Algood, Tenn.
. . . Burial was in Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville Community of Jackson County, Tenn. Anderson Funeral Home of Gainesboro were in charge of arrangements.
She was born on May 23, 1915 in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Woody and Cora Rush Biggs. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a former resident of Jackson County, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deweese was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Tinsley Stafford, who passed away Jan 1, 1961; her second husband, Charles M. Deweese who passed away Sept 3, 1985; five children, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include five sons, George D. Stafford; Bloomington Springs, Tenn., Jack Stafford, Gladdice Community of Jackson County, Sam D. Stafford, Cookville, Paul Stafford and Daniel Stafford, both of Gainesboro, Tenn; six daughter, Jo Helen Hammock and Sarah Harp, both of Cookville, May Ellen Mayberry, Lancaster, Tenn, Bonnie Phann and Janie Uhles, both of Baxter and Mary Frances Keith, Nashville; three brother, Tom Biggs and Cordell Biggs, Both of Nashville, Eugene Biggs of Florida; four sisters, Willie Flossie Stafford, Westmoreland, Irene McCormick, Smithville, Marie Wade and Willie Adams, both of Cheatham County; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
