- Grace Stafford Smith, 91, formally of Travelers Rest, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Piedmont Living Center in Greer, SC. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Hatcher Stafford. Mrs. Smith was a retired inspector with Monaghan Mill and was of the Assembly of God faith. She is survived by her 2 sons: Ralph (wife Linda) Smith of Travelers Rest and Nathan (wife Becky) of Florida; 4 grandchildren: Lisa (husband Eric) Frye of Oklahoma, Theresa (husband Brian) Ledford of Slater, Gwendolyn (husband Chad) Pointer of Greenville and Natalie Smith of Florida; 5 great-grandchildren: Hunter Frye, Courtney Pointer, Gracen, Halton and Creed Ledford; a sister, Barbara Shephard of Easley. She was predeceased by her husband, The Rev. Leonard D. Smith. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at The Howze Mortuary Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Piedmont Living Center. Burial will be private. The family will be at their respective homes.
