Blanche Stafford Smith,
96, of Sterling Way, Mt. Sterling passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling, She was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky on December 5, 1914 the daughter of the late Ballard and Dora Clay Williams Stafford. She was a member of the Camargo Church of God, a retired cosmetologist for Marshall Fields in Chicago, a Green Tree Volunteer with the Montgomery County Senior Citizens, and the widow of Charles Smith.
She is survived by a stepson, John Smith of California; three grandchildren, Dora (George) Pawley, Braxton Waller and Jamie (Jennifer) Waller all of Montgomery County, KY; and six great grandchildren, Morgan Pawley of Mt. Sterling; Ryan Pawley of Colorado, Blake Pawley of Lexington, KY, Hunter Waller, Griffen James and Waylynn Waller all of Montgomery County.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Susan Waller and six brothers and sisters, Robert Stafford, Ballard Stafford, Neva Clay Lykins, Mary Roundtree, Marie Raya and Mergie Kirkpatrick.
Funeral services were 11 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Sanders officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers were Braxton Waller, Jamie Waller, Blake Pawley, B. B. Stafford, Lynn Stafford, Hunter Waller and George Pawley.
