  Name: Harold STAFFORD Sex: M Birth: 10 APR 1892 in McGraw, NY Death: 21 DEC 1983 in Cortland, NY Burial: 26 APR 1984 McGraw, NY Harold Stafford was a farmer. He became totally deaf, had diabetes and eventually had to have a leg amputated, but he outlived all his brothers. He died at age 91 after an extended illness at Cortland Memorial Hospital. Lived on South Hill Rd., McGraw. A member of the McGraw Methodist Church. Surviviors included his son Richard of Cincinnatus NY, daughter Mrs. Rena Tuttle of DeRuyter NY. He was predeceased by daughter Ruth Johnson. Buried in McGraw Cemetery Sec M, Lot 5, Burial #790, Deed Book pg 201. Internment 23 Dec 1983 with Spring burial on 26 Apr 1984. Age 91 yrs. (Black Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY) He was the subject of Geraldine Stafford Barton's story, "The Hard Luck Man" (I also have the title, "Unfortunate" in my notes and I'm not certain which title is correct.)
