- Died 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 25, 1987, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Walker and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired employee of Koch-Ellis Barge and Ship Co., New Orleans, and a former Prudential Insurance Co. staff manager.
Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. William Greene. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by wife, Mary Conley Wascom; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis L. (Donna) Davis, Greenwell Springs; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Ivy "Jack" and Beverly Wascom, Brusly, and Harold "Hal" Wascom Jr., Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Yvonne Day, Walker, Mrs. Charles K. (Hilda) Patterson, Covington, and Mrs. Roy L. (Jean) Morgan, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Alex L. Wascom, Des Allemands, Gerald F. Wascom, Heber Springs, Ark., and Steve "Billy" Wascom, New Orleans; and four grandchildren, Lauri and Jill Davis, both of Greenwell Springs, Michelle and Patricia Wascom, Denham Springs.
Preceded in death by parents, Ivy W. and Camilla Wascom.
Pallbearers will be H.H. Forbes Jr., Johnny L. Hodges, Thomas C. Day,Frederick Bunker, David Wascom and Charles I. Morgan.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Family requests memorial donations to Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge.
