• Notes

  Poley Stafford was a son of Henry and Minnie Stafford of Caldwell County.  According to newspaper accounts, Mr. Stafford was killed while cutting down trees near Enon Church for the Brinkley Lumber Company. A tree fell in an unexpected direction and he was not able to get out of the way. Funeral services were conducted by Crow Funeral Home of Valdese.
