  I feel very strongly that Elizabeth Emerson is the daughter, or possib ly niece, of Judge Burr Hamilton Emerson, son of John & Catherine Johns on Emerson.Burr Hamilton Emerson had a daughter Elizabeth born in 1856 ( according to the 1860 census); she might have been old enough to marry Cha rles Stafford in 1870. I have corresponded with Terri Smith, [email protected], and she is not su re if Elizabeth is the daughter or niece. Census: Listed as Elizabeth E. Stafford, a widow.
