  Something interesting about this family. The only census they appear in is the 1910; in 1920, Richard E. Stafford, age 9 is living with grandmother E(lizabeth) Ellen Stafford in Umatilla County, Oregon, suggesting that his parents might have died. There is an Opie R. Stafford who was born in Walla Walla,Washington, 07 aug 1901. HE married Blanch Baldwin, and in 1930, they were living in Jackson County, Oregon, with a son Richard born in 1927. They later moved back to Walla Walla, Washington, where the local newspaper announced his birthday for several years in a row. On 06 NOv 1946, the local paper announced that Blanch had filed for divorce against Opie. Washington Death Index, 08 Oct 1980, Walla Walla, Washington I think it highly probably that the 1910 census takers made a mistake in listing Opie as a daughter of Richard & Rebecca Stafford; I think Opie is probably their son.
