  Obituary: From the news clipping scrapbook kept by Jessie Rublee, Ellington, NY Maxwell W. Stafford Maxwell W. Stafford, 69, of Thornton Road, Ellington, died unexpectedly at 3 p.m. Tuesday (July 11, 1972) at his home. He was an employe of the Studd and Whipple Lumber Co., Conewango Valley. Mr. Stafford was a member of the Ellington Exempt Firemen. He was born in the Town of Ellington, Jan. 17, 1903, the son of McClellan and Ethelyn Wakefield Stafford. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lela Garfield Stafford; one son, Gordon Stafford, and a grandson, Kevin Stafford, Greenhurst. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Barnard F. Howe, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Falconer, will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday.
