Lydia Ruth Stafford Foster, 94, of Pearisburg, went home to be with her Lord on February 14, 2008. Daughter of the late James E. Stafford and Hattie Kirk Stafford, Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley B. Foster; four brothers, Emory, Tuck, Wilson and Roy Stafford; and a beloved great-grandson, Jesse Aaron Coffey. She had a great love for her family and was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother and sister. Her life was a reflection of her love for the Lord, and her sweet spirit was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. A deeply faithful woman, her Bear Springs United Methodist Church family, of which she was a lifetime member, meant much to her. She served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Shirley Foster Stafford, of Jeffersonton, Va., and Dottie Foster Perdue and husband, Wesley, of Pearisburg, Va.; grandchildren, Martha Stafford Coffey and husband, Jesse, Marvin and wife, Saralyn Stafford, Marion Stafford Butterworth and husband, Bill, Michael Stafford and friend, Sharon Burnette, Russell Perdue and wife, Teresa, Rodney Perdue and friend, Cindy Vaughn, and Robin Perdue Stafford and husband, Rick, will sorely miss their loving Maw Maw; eleven great-grandchildren, Crystal Perdue Boggess and husband, Mason, Rachel Coffey, Jessica Stafford, Brandon, Kyle and Carly Stafford, Benjamin, Tyler and Sarah Butterworth, and Ryan and Reggie Perdue, mourn her passing. She also leaves behind one great-greatgrandchild who never failed to bring her joy, Rhea Perdue, daughter of Crystal Perdue Boggess; her two sisters, Anna Lee Stafford, of Montcalm, W.Va., and Viola Stafford Martin, of Cashmere, W.Va.; plus several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends will miss her. Lastly, Lydia leaves behind two very special friends who loved and cared for her, Tracy Steele and Marilyn Mustard. Friends may call at Givens Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Bear Springs United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Kim Goddard and David Olinger officiating.
