  STAFFORD, Dorothy Morehead, 86, of Pearisburg, passed away Sunday night, June 11, 2000, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem. Mrs. Stafford was born on February, 7, 1914, in Carroll County, and was a daughter of the late Lawrence James Morehead and Mae Laura Stafford Morehead. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett W. (Whitey) Stafford. Mrs. Stafford was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Rebecca Stafford of Portsmouth, R.I.; two grandsons, Scott L. Stafford and Mark P. Stafford; and one great-grandson, Jason Stafford.  Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Charles W. Lockerby officiating, with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg.
