The Madisonian, Virginia City, MT, 16 Nov 1895
Mrs. Anna M. Stafford, wife of Dr. Isaac S. Stafford, died in Pony on the morning of Oct. 29th, of pleurisy, after a week's illness. Mrs. Stafford came to Montana with her husband, Capt. David Young, from the state of Illinois and settled in Madison county. Some years after the death of Capt. Young she became the wife of Dr. Isaac Stafford.
Deceased was the mother of Mrs. Florence Church, George, Williiam and Charles Young, Mrs. Anna Hofer of Choteau, Miss Lucy Stafford and Isaac S. Stafford, Jr. All were present at her death except Mrs. Stofer.
Mrs. Stafford was a lady of strong character, kind and hospitable and her friends will long cherish her memory.
The funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church by Rev. J. L. Marquis, assisted by Rev. J H. Bowker of Virginia City, and the remains were taken to Harrison cemetery for interment, followed by a large number of citizens.
