- HENRY H., born July 16, 1829, in Essex county, New York, brought up in Sangamon county, was married Dec. 7, 1851, to Lauretta Ross. They had two children, and moved to Decatur Sept. 16, 1856, where they had one child. Of their children, ADELAIDE died Dec. 21, 1859, aged seven years and four months. ORLANDO C., born Jan. 11, 1856, in Sangamon county, is a steam engineer in an oil mill at Decatur, Illinois. LAURETTA A., born Nov. 8, 1859, lives with her grand-father, Ross. Mrs. Lauretta Stafford died Dec. 7, 1859, in Decatur and Henry H. Stafford was married Aug. 6, 1863, in Jamestown, now Riverton, Ill., to Lydia A. Wright. They had five children, CELESTIA M. and EFFIE G., the second and fourth, died young. MARY E., GRACIE H. and DAISY L. live with their parents. Henry H. Stafford is an engineer, and has been running stationary engines for twenty years. He resides in Decatur, Illinois.

H.H.STAFFORD DIED TUESDAY
The Deceased Had Been a Resident of Decatur for Forty Years-Was Prominent in Odd Fellows Circles-Histor of His Life.
Henry Stafford died at the family residence, 315 South Water Street, at 9:20 p.m., Tuesday Oct.15, of heart trouble.
Mr. Stafford was born in Sussex County, New York, July 16, 1820. In 1836 he came with his parents to Illinois and settled on a farm in Sangaman county. Nearly twenty years of his early life was spent on the farm. In 1851 he was married to Miss Lauretta Ross, of Sangamon county. Her death occurred in 1858. In the fall of 1856 he moved to Decatur and secured a poition as fireman at Frank Priest's old mill, which was then located on Decatur street. After a year's service he was placed in charge of an enine. The mill was burned down in 1864. In 1861 Mr. Stafford enlisted in Company A Eighth Illinois Volunteer infantry, which was organized in this city and of which George S. Durfee was captain. After his term of service, he returned to the mill. In 1863 he was married to Lydia A. Wright at Riverton. Two children resulted from the first marriage. They are Orlando C. Stafford, of this city and Mrs. Lauretta Morris, of Sangamon county. By the second union six children were born, two of whom died in infancy. The others are Mrs Eleanor Miller, of Chicago, Mrs. Grace Houghton. of Chicago, Miss Leota and Chas. Stafford of this City.
Mr. Stafford was member of the Odd Fellows and Patriarchs Militant. and had occupied all the official chairs and attended the grand lodge and encampments. He was always prominent in the order and was highly respected and liked by all who knew him.
He had been engineer at the Hatfield mill continuously since 1870 although the mill had changed hands several times. During the greater portion of his residence here he had occupied the house at 315 South Water Street.
Last February he had a severe attack of the grip, which later caused heart trouble. He had been bedfast for about five weeks.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. from the late residence. The burial will be in Greenwood.

The funeral Of H. Stafford is being held this afternoon from the residence on S.Water Stree. It is largely attended. The G.A.R. attened in a body.

LAID TO REST
The funeral of H.H. Stafford Largely Attended Yesterday Afternoon.
The funeral of the late H.H.Stafford took place yesterday afternoon from the family residence on South Water Street and was largely attended. Members of the Odd Fellows and the Daughters of Rebekah were in attendance as organizations and there wwerer also present many friends and acquaintadces of the families. Members of Dunham Post G.A.R. accompanied by a firing squad from the Sons of Veterans, were in attendance to pay their respects to the memory of the old comrade. The services were conducted by Rev. D. F. Howe, Pastor of the First Methodist church, and the remains were laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Music for the sad occasion was furnished by a quartet composed of Messrs. D.L. Bunn, Troy Alexander, and Mrs. Howard and Miss Beatrice Howard. The Pall bearers were I.N. Marin sr. J.L.Peake, J.H. Lloyd, A.T. Grist, R.W.Weigand, and Reuben Cole. Many sympathetic friends accompanied the remains to their final resting place.
