- KERNERSVILLE - Ora Knight Stafford, 89, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Bri tthaven of Kernersville. She was born in Guilford County, Feb. 14, 1914, t he daughter of Gurney and Martha Jones Knight.
Mrs. Stafford was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church for ov er 60 years, where she was a member of the choir for 30 years, baked commu nion bread for 35 years and was very active with her circle and other chur ch activities. Mrs. Stafford had also operated a day care center on Meld ol Road for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton E. Stafford on Dec. 3, 1 959. Survivors include her son, Bill Stafford and wife, Lana, of Thomasvil le; a daughter, Marti Stafford of Kernersville; a granddaughter, Angela Br adshaw-Corkery of Roanoke, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Brooke and a great- grandson, Peyton, also of Roanoke, Va.; three sisters, Ethel Robinson of S ummerfield, Elizabeth Nelson of Greensboro, Mabel Kozlovski of New Port Ri chey, Fla.; extended family, Charlie, Mary and Joe Hampton of Kernersvill e; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Bunker Hi ll United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. T he family will receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening, Dec. 28, at Hanes -Lineberry Pierce Chapel in Kernersville. Memorials may be made to the Bun ker Hill United Methodist Church General Fund, 1510 Bunker Hill-Sandy Rid ge Road, Kernersville, NC 27284.
