WINFREE KERNERSVILLE ~ Bessie Mae Stafford Winfree Bessie Mae Stafford Winfree, 75, went home to be with her Lord June 4, 2011 as she was surrounded by her loving husband and family. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday June 7, 2011, with the Rev. David Rorie officiating, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. A lifelong resident of Forsyth County, Bessie was the daughter of the late Nina Pearl Tuggle and Theodore Roosevelt Stafford. She had worked for Kernersville Carpet for a number of years prior to her retirement. Survivors include her husband, Berchel "Jack" Winfree of the home; sons Doug Winfree of Pinnacle, and Ken Winfree and Melanie of Kernersville; grandchildren Troy Winfree, Logan Winfree, Leah Winfree, Anah Winfree, and Matt Scott; great grandchildren Eli Scott and Maddy Scott; sisters Edith Van Ness of Sanford, Florida and Emma McNeill and Clyde of Kernersville; Jack's sisters Wilma Pfaff and Zona Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
