- Linville, John Paul
KERNERSVILLE - John Paul Linville, 62, received the checkered flag, winni ng his last race on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005. He was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Fo rsyth County to the late Ernest Paul and Floy Phipps Linville. Mr. Linvil le had been a self-employed building contractor since 1970. He recently h ad been able to combine his lifelong love of racing and family by worki ng with his son-in-law, Kevin Harvick, at KHI. He was preceded in dea th by his brothers, Jim and Buck Linville. Surviving are his wife, Joyce G riffin Linville, of the home; a daughter, DeLana Harvick, and husband Kev in of Kernersville; five sisters, Jenny Ferguson, Sue Stockton and Judy Cu rtis, all of Kernersville, Joan Pardue of Yadkinville and Shelby Pay ne of Charlotte; a brother, Richard Linville, of Kernersville; and sever al nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. toda y, Nov. 2, at Kernersville First Baptist Church, with Dr. Steve Martin off iciating. The family will receive friends after the service. A graveside s ervice will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Eastlawn Garde ns of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Victory Jun ction Gang Camp, 4500 Adam's Way, Randleman, NC 27317, in memory of John P aul Linville. The family would like to take this time to express their sin cere gratitude to Dr. Charles Branch and staff, Dr. Glenn Lesser and a ll of John Paul's many friends, neighbors and caregivers for all their lo ve and support during this time.
